About

The Little Lehigh Chapter of Trout Unlimited was formed in 1979and was one of the first Trout Unlimited Chapters in the State of Pennsylvania.  The Chapter currently has 171 members and our home streams are parts of the Little Lehigh Watershed which includes the Little Lehigh, Jordan,  Leibert, Trout,  Swabia,  Schaffer,  Toad,  Spring,  Breinig Run and Little Cedar Creeks.  Waters from these creeks make up the Watershed and flow into the Lehigh River and ultimately the Delaware River.

The Chapter is a part of the Pennsylvania Councils Southeastern Region.  The two closest Southeastern Chapters are the Tulpehocken and Perkiomen Chapters.  We also are involved with joint programs with neighboring Chapters from the Northeastern Region: the Hokendauqua, Monocacy, and Forks of the Delaware Chapters.
The Little Lehigh Chapter meets on the first Wednesday of each month from September through June.  Meetings are held at the Wildlands Conservancy in Emmaus Pennsylvania.  We usually have a speaker at this meeting.  All Trout Unlimited members and anyone interested in cold water conservation is invited to attend.
Our major projects at this time are (1)two Trout In the Classroom programs being conducted at Seven Generations Charter School in Emmaus, Pennsylvania and St. John Vianney Regional School in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  (2) Cold Water Conservation Corps monitoring sites on the Little Lehigh. (3) Assisting the Wildlands Conservancy in stream restoration and riparian barrier construction as a part of the Wildland’s dam removal projects. (4) Monofilament recycling program in conjunction with Boy Scouts of America Eagle Project. (5) Stream clean ups along the Little Lehigh. (6) Youth Camp Program
Our active committees are: Conservation, Membership, Legislative, Trout In the Classroom, Fund Raising and Community Outreach.

Chapter Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm, at the Wildlands Conservancy in Emmaus, Pa.  We invite anyone interested in conservation as it pertains to the Little Lehgih Watershed to join in our activities and projects.
